FSC Certification
Chantiers Chibougamau Ltd. and Nordic Wood Structures Achieve FSC Certification.
FSC – in brief
FSC is an international certification and labeling system that guarantees that the forest products you purchase come from responsibly managed forests and verified recycled sources.
Under FSC certification, forests are certified against a set of strict environmental and social standards, and fiber from certified forests is tracked all the way to the consumer through the chain of custody certification system. The end result is products in the marketplace carrying the FSC 'check-tree' logo.
FSC certification is a voluntary and market-based mechanism for ensuring that our forests are healthy. Consumer demand for FSC-certified products encourages forest managers and owners to become FSC-certified. Independent third-party auditors conduct all FSC certification audits.
FSC Certifications
Forest Management (FM) certification involves the inspection of a forest management unit by an independent FSC-accredited certification body. If the forest complies with FSC standards, it is issued a certificate. FSC-certified forests are managed to standards based on FSC’s ten Principles & Criteria.

FSC-certified products
By buying FSC-certified products you are investing in our future. Protect wildlife habitat, ensure clean water, and keep our forests healthy for generations to come.
Consumers are increasingly concerned about the impact of their decisions on the environment and communities. Some companies are addressing this concern by making sure they know the origin of their products, and that they come from environmentally and socially responsible sources. One of the most widely recognized ways of doing this is by specifying wood and/or paper that is independently verified to have met the FSC's international standards.
All products that are FSC-certified contain wood or wood fiber from FSC-certified forests, controlled sources, or material that is 100% and post-consumer reclaimed or recycled material.
